1,950 mile-long open wound
 dividing a pueblo, a culture,
running down the length of my body,
staking fence rods in my flesh,
 splits me splits me

 This is my home

When native unemployed people are referred to NCGA, they’re almost without exception hired; between 1998 and 2011, 97 percent of referred applicants were hired. But they don’t tend to last. In 2011, 245 people were hired out of 268 referred, but only 163 (66.5 percent) of the hired applicants actually showed up to the first day of work. Worse, only seven lasted to the end of the growing season

well they said white folk would do the labor that brown folk do.. guess someone was mistaken. Can you say BRACERO PROGRAM THE REMIX??

The “i didnt do it so im not a benefiting from colonialism” argument is redundant. Descendants of the people who stole the land away from the indian are benefiting today. Your privilege still exists. It will always exists. No one is asking for reparation, we are asking that you acknowledge the unspeakable history and that you acknowledge the privilege you and your descendants before and after you will benefit from.

Sam Cook - “God in Code”

“In this country, the poet Christ is primarily worshiped by those who wish him white… who call his murder a miracle and then oppress in his name.”
